Sony Group Corp’s gaming chief Jim Ryan has referred to as an offer by Microsoft Corp to maintain the “Call of Duty” collection on PlayStation for a restricted time “insufficient”.

Xbox maker Microsoft introduced the $69 billion acquisition of “Call of Duty” maker Activision Blizzard Inc in January and has pledged to maintain the hit franchise on PlayStation past the prevailing settlement with Activision.

Microsoft “has solely supplied for ‘Call of Duty’ to stay on PlayStation for 3 years after the present settlement,” Ryan mentioned in an announcement.

“Their proposal was insufficient on many ranges and didn’t take account of the affect on our avid gamers,” Ryan mentioned.

The airing of personal negotiation comes as Microsoft and Sony transfer to safe their video games pipeline with a flurry of offers as advances in expertise threaten the dominant place of platform operators.

The Activision Blizzard acquisition might harm the business if Microsoft refused to offer rivals entry to Activision’s best-selling video games, Britain’s antitrust regulator mentioned final week.
