A STEWARD in Paris Saint-Germain’s match in opposition to Maccabi Haifa went to excessive lengths to try to stop a pitch invader.

For some weird purpose they determined to throw a SHOE at the suspect in an try to stop him from reaching Lionel Messi.

During the match in the Israeli metropolis of Haifa, a fan determined to run onto the pitch to come face to face with the likes of Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Footage posted to TikTok reveals them leaping over the promoting board, with the steward responding by grabbing them by the leg.

But all of the steward succeeded in doing was pulling off the invader’s shoe.

And then, with the offender on the ground, the steward THREW the shoe straight at them.

The low-cost shot did not deter the suspect although, as they acquired up and scampered away in the direction of Messi.

Messi wasn’t too deterred by the incident, scoring in PSG’s first aim in their 3-1 comeback win.

In doing so Maccabi Haifa turned the thirty ninth workforce he has scored in opposition to in the competitors – breaking a document set by Cristiano Ronaldo.
