Meta announces Connect event on October 11, teases new VR headset release

Meta Platforms Inc will host its annual event on Oct. 11 to showcase augmented and digital actuality (AR/VR) choices, and presumably release its a lot touted VR headset code-named Project Cambria.

Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg in a Facebook post on Tuesday introduced the event date with an image of him sporting a VR headset, hinting on the long-awaited headset release.

Meta didn’t reply to a Reuters question searching for affirmation on the release of the new product.

Zuckerberg, on a podcast final month, stated the new headset could have superior sensors to trace eyes and facial cues, with capabilities to reflect these expressions onto digital avatar in actual time.

Project Cambria, which would be the successor to Meta Quest 2, would be the centerpiece of the corporateā€™s metaverse technique.

Over the previous few months, Meta has introduced updates to its VR social platform, Horizon Worlds, together with creator funds, opened a bodily retailer to demo the devices and in addition bumped prices of current VR headset fashions.
