Chelsea verify Ampadu departure

Chelsea have confirmed the departure of Ethan Ampadu.

The Welsh worldwide will be part of Spezia on mortgage at some stage in the 2022/23 season.

A press release on the membership’s website mentioned: “Ethan Ampadu will spend a second season in Serie A after becoming a member of Spezia on mortgage for 2022/23.

“The 21-year-old spent the earlier marketing campaign within the Italian prime flight, on mortgage with newly-promoted Venezia, the place he made 29 league appearances, predominantly within the centre of midfield.”

Ampadu is the third Chelsea product to be shipped out on mortgage immediately, following Dujon Sterling and Xavier Simons.

He can be set to be joined in via the exit door by Billy Gilmour, who is known to have agreed to affix Brighton in a £9million deal.
